Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at pawprintpickups@pawprintsandpickups.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Pet owners  sometimes neglected to clean up  because they assumed it eventually goes away, because the dog deposited the feces in an area far from walking/playing areas, such as in the woods, or owners figure the lawn mower breaks it up and it goes away when it rains. But the fact of the matter is some  parasites that are found in animal feces on or in your lawn can harbor diseases that iinclude Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Salmonella, as well as hookworms, ringworms and tapeworms. Infections from these bugs often cause fever, muscle aches, headache, vomiting, and diarrhea in humans. Children are most susceptible, since they often play in the dirt and put things in their mouths or eyes. For all of these reasons, EPA says, “The reluctance of many residents to handle dog waste is the biggest limitation to controlling pet waste.”

To protect your families, friends and pets health.

  • Pet waste can carry harmful pathogens like E. coli, Salmonella, Giardia, and roundworms. These can spread to humans and other animals, especially children who play outdoors.

 Prevents Water Pollution

  • Rain can wash waste into storm drains and waterways, introducing bacteria and nutrients that cause algae blooms, harm aquatic life, and contaminate drinking water sources.

Eliminates odors and keeps areas clean

  • Accumulated waste smells bad and makes yards, parks, and neighborhoods unsanitary and unpleasant.
  • Regular cleanup maintains a clean and welcoming environment.

Demonstrates Responsible Pet Ownership and Community Respect

  • Cleaning up after your pet shows consideration for others, sets a good example, and helps keep shared spaces enjoyable for everyone.
